Choose your cosplay before the convention
Cosplay is expensive, it takes weeks to arrive or to make, and the one thing you cannot do beforehand is see it on yourself. respecced does exactly that: upload a photo, pick the costume, and it is on you in about twelve seconds, with the armour, the cloak and the boots where they should be. It is the cheapest way to find out that something is not going to work.

Weeks of waiting, or weeks of making
A cosplay is bought months ahead or built by hand, and either way the first time you see it on yourself is far too late to change course. That is a lot of money and a lot of evenings riding on a listing photograph.
Seeing it on your own body first is the cheapest possible way to discover that a silhouette does not work for you.
Your face stays visible
Masks, helmets, visors and hoods are worn pushed back, open or carried, and no face paint or prosthetics are applied. That is deliberate: the point is to see the costume on you, and a preview where your face is covered shows you nothing.
Named characters and original designs
The ready-made list is archetypes rather than named characters, because those designs belong to their studios and a model asked for a branded costume produces a poor copy of one.
If you want something specific, bring a photograph of it and it will be fitted to you. That is the same bargain the clothing try-on makes with a shop's garment photo.
How it works
A selfie is enough. Face on, decent light, everyday clothes. Software screens it before anything happens; no person sees it.
Pick from presets. There is nothing to type and nothing to learn.
Slide between before and after, keep what you like, stack another change, download.

Questions
Can I try a specific character?
Bring a photo of the costume and respecced fits that costume to you. The ready-made list is original designs in a style rather than named characters, because those belong to their studios.
Does it keep my face?
Yes. Masks, helmets and hoods are worn pushed back or carried so your face stays visible, and no face paint or prosthetics are added.
Can I use it to compare two costumes?
That is what it is for. Run both on the same photo and look at them side by side, which is far more useful than looking at two listing photos.
Is it free?
Yes, to start with. You get a few free respecs on your first visit with no account and no card; after that you buy credits or subscribe.
Want to try it on yourself?
Upload one photo and see it in about twelve seconds. A few free respecs to start, no account and no card. Adults only; your photos stay private, every image is checked, and photos and results are deleted after 24 hours.
