See your new hair before you sit in the chair

Changing your hair is a commitment. respecced lets you try the cut and the colour on your own face first: upload one photo, tap a style, and see the result in about 12 seconds. It keeps your face exactly as it is and only changes the hair.

The gap a mirror cannot close

You can hold a photograph of a haircut next to your face in a mirror and learn almost nothing, because the thing you are trying to judge is the one thing the photograph cannot show you: that cut, on your head, with your hairline and your face shape.

A stylist can tell you it will suit you and will usually be right, but you are still committing to weeks of growing it out on the strength of a conversation. Seeing it first turns the conversation into a decision.

Copying a style from a photo

The presets cover the common cuts and colours, but the route most people use is "copy a hairstyle": any photo of a cut you like, applied to you. It takes the shape, the length, the texture and the colour and adapts them to your own hairline and growth pattern.

It deliberately does not take anything else from the photo. Not the other person's face, not their features, not their skin. That is the difference between seeing a cut on yourself and seeing a picture of somebody else.

Take it with you

Download the result and show it at the appointment. There is also a printable sheet made for exactly this, with the before and after side by side, the style named, and four ruled lines for notes.

It says plainly at the foot that it is a preview generated from one photograph rather than a photograph of the finished result, because a stylist who does not know that is starting from a false premise and the customer is the one disappointed.
